Yesterday afternoon we took a walk on one of our favorite paved trails. It is so nice to just be able to walk on the paved trail and look all around at the amazing geology there without having to worry about tripping over rocks under your feet while you look! Yesterday was a special treat. There was a lot of water because of the recent rains. We were listening to a book together with Paul's iPods on the way up. I kept thinking I saw new rocks along the way, but just wasn't really paying that close of attention. Then on the way back we stopped listening for a bit...and it was crazy!!! There were new rocks! They were ones that had come crashing down and about 30 yards of the trail had been repaved because of the impact damage. It was crazy...once we paid attention and saw it! It probably happened in the near past because of the heavy rains we have been having. It has also caused a fall up on the trail on the hill behind our house this year and one other time I know of. Nature doing it's thing! So interesting to see!
